About the role

The Business Development Director is responsible for volume and revenue growth of Meat Systems (Coatings, Seasonings and Marinades) into the Foodservice Chain, C-Store and Direct to Retail (DTR) channels.

This person must be a strong leader who can leverage appropriate resources, develop relationships and drive cross functional execution. This position is responsible for developing and driving the Meat Systems commercial execution strategy through the construct of the Kerry business model – driving end to end growth.  A minimal of 50% travel is required for this key position.  

Key responsibilities

  • Develop & support Meat EUM strategy, build growth strategies that fully leverage the Kerry business model across customer channels and routes to market
  • Engagement and alignment of strategy and business with key business model stakeholders (commercialization & supply chain demand lead, applications, marketing, sales)
  • Responsible for driving profitable growth within the Meat Systems technology into Foodservice, C-Store and DTR
  • Deeply understand the Meat Systems industry - the customers, competitors, market trends, key market dynamics that influence our success
  • Influence the innovation requirements and managing through the Kerry innovation funnel & process
  • Architect commercial plan, support sales team to build commercial pipeline & lead execution of key projects & presentations
  • Drive application expertise within the EUM team
  • Build strong understanding of all Kerry technologies relevant for the technology – and fully align to market and customer needs
  • Role Model Kerry Leadership and effective people & team management    

Qualifications and skills

  • 10-15 years’ experience, progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in related capacity or food industry role
  • Technical background with food science based degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Business experience desirable with strong commercial understanding, combined with ability to drive profitable growth
  • Bachelor’s degree required;   Masters or PhD preferred
  • Strong project management skills & an ability to lead indirect teams
  • Strategic thinker and results driven
  • Strong communication skills and ability to easily build rapport
  • Strong ability to influence key stakeholders and drive alignment across Kerry business model.
  • Experience in customer interaction and customer driven technical support
  • Ability to interface and influence  other business functions, especially sales, R&D, operations and senior management  within the business
  • Bias for external perspective, including customers, competitors, and market trends in the Meat industry
