About the role

Kerry Taste & Nutrition is actively seeking an Account Manager for our Dairy & Plant-Based Dairy group. This role will be remote with travel involved throughout the US with a preference for someone that sits in the Midwest.

 

In this role, our Account Manager develops, manufactures and delivers the largest and most innovative portfolio of Taste Building Blocks and Nutritional Actives & Functional Solutions for the global food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. With revenue exceeding $7.5 billion annually, and customers in 140 countries, we help develop products that delight and nourish consumers across the globe. You will hold full accountability for leading and directing sales execution against a defined set of customers aligned to the channel growth strategies. The role will be accountable for delivering sustainable top line growth to the business with new and existing customers, and will work collaboratively with the marketing, business development, culinary and RD&A teams to bring innovation and improved solutions to Kerry’s customers in the dairy and plant-based dairy end use market. 

Key responsibilities

  • Management of dairy and plant-based dairy accounts, including the development of relationships and growth of these accounts, against annual budgeted revenue and margin targets
  • Understanding of the customer’s objectives, growth strategies and relevant insights/needs required to achieve mutual value for Kerry and the customer
  • Account planning with strong proof points and overall validation from the customer
  • Leading the customer by leveraging and utilizing cross functional resources and solutions to continually drive the customer experience and business growth needs
  • Annual financial budgeting and forecasting aligned to performance measures and KPIs
  • Driving proactive customer engagement & activation of key growth platforms aligned to the business objectives & overall account plan
  • Customer stakeholder management and relationship mapping aligned by function and job level
  • Opportunity pipeline management aligned to the business strategies and key financial metrics (ie GM%, Profitability, Portfolio Mix)
  • Commercial pricing and contract management to protect business risk and deliver sustainable margins 
  • Customer data management within Kerry internal systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Demand forecasting ownership and updates aligned to continuous improvement metrics
  • Cross-functional voice of customer, providing ongoing feedback and shared insight/learnings to business/end-use market team and partner functions as it related to their strategy and investment requirements

Qualifications and skills

  • Primary bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales experience
  • 5-7 years minimum experience progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in related sales, technical or R&D roles within the food industry.
  • Experience in ingredient, flavors or functional & active ingredients, preferably with existing relationships within dairy & plant-based dairy.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with external and internal stakeholders
  • Experience with building deep customer relationships and converting those relationships into increased sales, innovation and top line growth.
