Key responsibilities
III. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:
· Responsible for ensuring equipment is available and online to meet production goals
· Troubleshoot and make repairs to existing plant equipment, install new equipment, and building maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
· Maintain a positive attitude amidst unplanned events and a willingness to be flexible with work volume and type.
· Willingness to contribute to the greater plant as a liaison to safety, quality, engineering, or production programs.
IV. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A. Essential Functions:
1. Provide support to plant operations and other teams on their assigned shift to ensure equipment is available as needed for production
2. Execute urgent work orders and special projects.
3. Work with various hand tools, power tools, welders and cutting equipment to repair plant equipment
4. Perform sanitary and non-sanitary welding and pipe fitting, per skill level
5. Repair, assembly and installation of sanitary and utility service valves
6. Perform daily PMs as assigned
7. Operate forklift and aerial lifts
8. Help as required in the parts storeroom
9. Contribute to plant-wide programs in safety, quality, engineering, or production
10. May periodically be asked to serve as “on call” outside of standard scheduled hours to support critical work. During on call times, must be available via phone and to come on site as needed
11. Basic computer skills.

Qualifications and skills
VI. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
B. EXPERIENCE: Experience in a maintenance environment required. Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred. Experience troubleshooting and resolving more complex maintenance issues without direct oversight preferred.
C. SKILLS Mechanical repair, general welding, ability to use hand tools, hand-held power tools, and basic computer skills.
VII. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Maintenance Worker will be subject to working in areas of high noise level and in hazardous areas. Burn hazards may exist when working on steam powered equipment. High degree of mobility is necessary as job requires climbing, crawling, bending, and twisting. Must be comfortable working from elevated surfaces, including ladders & manlifts, sometimes at heights exceeding 20 feet above the floor. Exposure to chemicals can periodically occur. Proper PPE is provided to mitigate the impact of any on-the-job hazards, consistent with OSHA and Kerry HSE requirements.
