About the role

 

To manage the manufacturing production scheduling, logistics, and supply chain management for the Owen plant. Responsible for proactively maintaining Customer Service levels, inventory levels, scheduling efficiency, and inventory accuracy. Schedule a number of internal workcenters.

Key responsibilities

 

• Interface with Sales, R&D, manufacturing and more to insure that sales requirements are achieved.

• Monitor the following aspects that will need to be considered in preparing Production Schedule: sales forecasts, production costs & capacity, inventory costs, customer orders, inventory levels and historical run rates • Work to eliminate excessive inventories and improve efficiency through the schedule process, reporting monthly aged items and develop plan to eliminate aged inventory on a monthly basis,

• Identify and resolve conflicts with respect to materials and capacity availability.

• Monitor, forecast, plan and schedule multiple high speed production lines within the guidelines established by the company at all times ensuring the company meets customer service level targets.

• As needed prepare daily schedules and effectively communicate these schedules to managers and supervisors on each shift of operations.

• Assist in the development and implementation of short and long range plans relating to production planning/scheduling activities for the plant.

• Monitor Open Order report, and update daily, or as needed to keep Customer Care up to date on order confirmation, changes and expected shipping dates,

• Maintain communication between all departments within the company allowing the company to meet our planned objectives.

• Have a good understanding of plant operations to allow for most efficient means of scheduling production.

• Ensure accurate and timely raw material inventories by working closely with the purchasing and warehousing department.

• Monitor cycle counts to ensure they are processed correctly and in a timely fashion

• Manage aged inventory to ensure inventory reduction and minimize loss and investigate root cause to determine root cause and set actions to eliminate future occurrences

• Monitor inventory transactions to identify errors in keying

• Monitor vendor scheduled receipts report and identify critical raw material deliveries

• Communicate non-delivery of critical raw materials to purchaser if item does not deliver as confirmed • Monitor stock material to predetermined days of supply in all areas and advise on shortages or overages of stock to schedulers

• Monitor schedule changes with the various work centers to determine when internally produced products are not meeting requirement dates

• Validate with Quality and Inventory Control on quantity discrepancies with new production

• Monitor schedule changes in relation to purchased materials and advise purchasers of material PO’s that can be reduced or delayed

• Back-up Schedulers and Materials Supervisor as needed for vacations and missed days

• Special projects as assigned by Supply Chain Manager or Plant Manager

• Monitor Customer Service Opportunities and advise Materials Manager on status

• Plant Liaison for organizing plant transfers and scale-ups and post commercialization process.
