About the role

The site produces chocolate and pastels; variegates; nuggets; hard candies; panned candies; enrobed items; and fillings for the confectionery, cereal, dairy, ice cream, bakery, snacks, and health food segments. The 152,000 square feet plant utilizes liquid packaging, tote filling, and form fill/seal packaging. With an on-site reseach and development centre, the majority of the products produced at Union City are customized to meet the needs of each customer, and the range is certified Kosher. Join the Union City team as a Quality Technician on 2nd shift (2:00-10:30).

Key responsibilities

Do you thrive in a  fast-paced team environment and work closely with production and other colleagues?

The Quality Technician makes quick decisions and uses sound judgement  to make good decisions and makes recommendations for adjustments, corrective actions, and disposition of goods. You'll be  exposed to smell and a variety of flavor products, essential oils and raw materials.


Accuracy Is Important!

You'll be performing tests, analysis, and/or verification steps to assure that raw materials, batched product, and finished product exceeds established quality standards. The Quality Technician verifies conformity through measurement and assessment and we want to make every batch the same!


Strong attention to detail! 

Follow  procedures, policies, and instructions, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions is essential for this role.

The production lines are running non-stop in order to ship products to our customers and in order to ensure quality products are being released for delivery,  working weekends or holidays may be required to get the job done.

Qualifications and skills

What you'll need:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or relevant science is a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft office is a plus as this will help you to crunch the data, identify trends, and communicate with the team.
  • Do you have experience working alongside a team and operating machines in a manufacturing environment? The safety of our team and products are our top priority, so we prefer some experience but are happy to train you too.
