About the role

The site produces chocolate and pastels; variegates; nuggets; hard candies; panned candies; enrobed items; and fillings for the confectionery, cereal, dairy, ice cream, bakery, snacks, and health food segments. The 152,000 square feet plant utilizes liquid packaging, tote filling, and form fill/seal packaging. With an on-site reseach and development centre, the majority of the products produced at Union City are customized to meet the needs of each customer, and the range is certified Kosher.

Key responsibilities

What you'll do


The documentation coordinator position is very important to the quality function. Are you detailed oriented and like processes? Do you check things twice? Maybe three times to ensure information is accurate?

What type of documentation will you coordinate?

  • Daily micro lab submission forms review against production and third party website
  • Daily LIMS print outs for production MOs
  • Daily UPS shipments for product testing to third party labs and sample requests.
  • Daily and weekly hold inventory for finished products and raw materials as a part of Level 1 and Level 2 Quality holds review for physical and mapics.
  • Generate weekly and monthly KPIs of internal foreign material issues and non-conformances for raw materials and finished products
  • Mapics hold review
  • Completion of Trash Disposition of product on hold.
  • Management of weekly, monthly and yearly internal and external QA lab equipment calibrations and approval certificates in LIMS
  • Conduct weekly calibration of QA lab equipment once a month
  • Annual and Quarterly air, water testing and data loggers management
  • Conduct weekly environmental monitoring swabs


Qualifications and skills

What you'll need


  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. College Diploma or University Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or relevant science is desired
  • 1+ years of experience in food, pharmaceutical industry, or manufacturing environment is needed to understand the needs in quality
  • Do you have experience with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FCC/USP/ASTA test methods, aseptic technique and food or pharmaceutical production?
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for majority of your shift and/ or long periods of time
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft office such as excel and outlook
