About the role

Our Union City site is part of our Sweet division and creates chocolates and other confectionery items for Kerry customers! With an on-site research and development center, the majority of the products produced at Union City are customized to meet the needs of each customer, and is certified Kosher.

Our Quality department is critical to the organization, assisting with a critical and complex issues such as: ingredients and packaging control, product testing and product release, product disposition system and rework control, HACCP, weight control, manufacturing procedures, aged inventory policy and may include systems and sanitation audits. Accuracy counts in this role! and we are looking for someone who appreciates and understands the importance of precision, correctness, and someone who will not cave under pressure. 

What would you do?

  • Work with the Quality Manager to develop and maintain procedures which assure product and service quality including ingredient and packaging control, product testing and clearance, product disposition system and rework control, HACCP, weight control, manufacturing procedures, aged inventory policy and may include systems and sanitation audits.
  • Maintaining the SQF system, Food Safety and Quality programs and documentation:
    • FSMA Template for Positive Release - Daily
    • LIMS print outs for production MO’s- Daily
    • LIMS Equipment Calibration – QC Assigning, Lab Equipment Monthly and Yearly Calibration
    • Temp and Humidity data loggers, Water and Air Testing, Shipping - Bi Weekly and Monthly
    • Hold Inventory- Daily
    • EMP LIMS - Monthly
    • Quality Metrics calculations - Monthly

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant job experience in food manufacturing or food quality.
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant GFSI standards such as SQF, BRC, IFS or FS 22000.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends.
