Where You'll Work

Our Union City site is part of our Sweet division and creates chocolates and other confectionery items for Kerry customers! With an on-site research and development center, the majority of the products produced at Union City are customized to meet the needs of each customer, and is certified Kosher.

What You'll Do

  • Oversees and manages all planning activities related to materials management and inventory control in the manufacturing environment. This includes tactical day-to-day operational commitments covering materials management, inventory control and materials functions such as purchasing and scheduling. Translates customer delivery requirements into material strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of products while optimizing customer satisfaction. Responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods to support business objectives.

 

  1. Develop strategic inventory and planning vision for the site.
  2. Develop safety stock, minimum order quantities, optimal production quantities for raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
  3. Monitor slow moving and obsolete inventory and develop a plan to deal with accordingly.
  4. Develop, monitor and publish department and site KPI's and set goals for improvement.
  5. Drive best practices for inventory management and reporting. Responsible to ensure appropriate control mechanisms are in place and achieve exceptional levels of inventory accuracy, material availability, and service goals. 
  6. Develop and manage purchasing and scheduling staff. Maintain cross-training program to assure highly qualified backups for every function.  Drive a culture of operational excellence throughout the organization.

What You'll Need

Education

Degree in Business or equivalent field. MBA preferred though not required. APICS Certification preferred though not required.

 

Technical

In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement and distribution) and a superior understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plant.

Strong analytical skills

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)

Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization.

Must be a strong communicator and possess strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.
