About the role


Work Location        : Tokyo, Japan 
Reporting To          :  Sales Director

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving sales and fostering growth in Kerry Japan’s Dairy business. This entails managing and cultivating relationships with key contacts of existing accounts, as well as developing new customers to expand the overall Dairy business.


Kerry’s strategy in this market necessitates close engagement with key stakeholders both externally and internally across countries, focusing on innovation, meeting consumer demands, and establishing long-term supply partnerships. The successful candidate will lead these engagement efforts in the Japan market with key accounts, partner manufacturers, and teams overseas, employing an innovative menu/category approach with applications and marketing support.


Key responsibilities


  • Define, plan, and implement account-based strategies to support Kerry’s business growth within key accounts.
  • Drive relationships to fully maximize business opportunities.
  • Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the region through reporting.
  • Meet pre-defined Key Performance Indicators.
  • Maintain and enhance product profitability with existing customers.
  • Monitor and measure performance against targets.
  • Strengthen customer relationships by overseeing activities and ensuring compliance with segmentation guidelines.
  • Assist in developing commercial, legal, supply, and stocking agreements with customers in accordance with Kerry’s guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all Kerry systems and processes.
  • Support the Account Director in coordinating sales efforts against key priorities.
  • Negotiate with account representatives and maintain effective client relationships.


Qualifications and skills


  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 5 years of sales account management experience in Japan.
  • Previous sales experience within trading industry, with category/expertise within meat, food, or beverage research, development, and application (RD&A), manufacturing, operations, or quality would be an added advantage. 
  • Proficiency in collaborating with distributors and suppliers to optimize sales, foster development, and capitalize on contact opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen understanding of costs, margins, and profit to deliver shareholder value.
  • Possesses a proven track record of fostering robust relationships both internally and externally.
  • Willingness to actively engage in cultivating multi-level customer relationships, aligned with our objectives.
  • Capability and eagerness to participate in all aspects of the sales process, including sample collection, quotation requests, technical document preparation, and utilization of company systems for seamless processing.
