We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician in our Kerry Team in Tenbury Wells, Co. Worcestershire, England.

This position is a full-time, permanent opportunity for rotating day and afternoon shifts (6am-2pm and 2pm–10pm), Monday to Friday. As the Laboratory Technician you will be a key member of our Quality Control Team, ensuring safety and quality of our products. The training will be provided for this role.

 

At our Kerry site in Tenbury Wells, we are producing a range of products from fruit preserves, fillings, sauces and toppings, to chocolate, caramel and savory sauces. We supply yogurt, ice-cream, and other dairy product manufacturers, as well as baking companies and foodservice groups. The site is located close to A456, 4 minutes by car from town center in Tenbury Wells, 16 minutes from Ludlow, 32 minutes from Kidderminster and 45 minutes from Worcester; due to work hours a private transport will be required. There’s an onsite parking and canteen with fresh fruits provided.

What will you be doing?

 

Your responsibilities as the Laboratory Technician will include:

 

  • Working with the Quality and Production Teams to ensure that materials and products comply with the site standards.
  • Conducting routine environmental swabbing across the site.
  • Completing daily chemical checks on the factory water samples.
  • Carrying out tests on various testing equipment for measures such as pH, RS, aW, viscosity, organoleptic and fruit content.
  • Raising any non-compliance and issues to a Quality Laboratory Lead.
  • Attaching Certificates of Conformance (COC) and Certificates of Analysis (COA) into SAP system for relevant raw materials.
  • Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.

 

What do you need to be successful?

 

  • Great written, numerical and verbal skills.
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to record, interpret and analyse data.
  • Previous experience in the laboratory environment will be beneficial, but it’s not required.
  • Computer literate (basic MS Excel and Word), knowledge of the SAP will be beneficial.
  • Eager to learn and develop.
  • Great attention to details.
  • Ability to work in a team and on your own.
