Key responsibilities

So what’s this job all about?

 

Develop a vision and lead the transition to a world class engineering function that supports the goals of the site and overall business. You will be passionate about people and processes, and work alongside the teams to develop them into working by KPS!

Align & lead the site Engineering team to ensure they are engaged and high performing.  Build trust through the skilled application of people management processes and open 2 way communication. This will mean focusing on Recruiting the best talent, inducting your new members, building skillset through training feedback and support. Ensure that there is an adequate hierarchal succession map and associated personal development plans across the site Engineering team, whilst managing on going performance.

Managing grievance and disciplinary issues as required with the support of HR.

Use the direction of KAMs to develop the engineering processes on site in terms of moving from reactive to planned Maintenance, Asset Management (TPM/CBM), Development of appropriate metrics KPIs to reflect the effectiveness of engineering, Materials management, Planning and Scheduling, Continuous Improvement, ICT Systems, Effective management of site utilities and services, Contracts and energy Management

In conjunction with the Plant Manager and Site SLT you will help define Manufacturing Capital Budget and projects.

Through analysis of Site Performance Data, identify performance gaps, trends and improvement opportunities. Communicate internally using visual management standards and effective deployment to line level as well as externally to technology management team.

Manage Health Safety and Environment, conduct risk assessment on processes and tasks in the Engineering, apply all required permits to work (including contractor control),Ensure relevant legal & regulatory requirements are adhered to with reference to hazardous materials, Proactively ensure all team members have a proactive approach to H&S.

Ensure that the engineering function supports and drives  the site ‘Path to True Lean’ by demonstrating the behavioural requirements that are required to support the Kerry Production System (KPS.

Qualifications and skills
  • Relevant Engineering Level 3 Qualification
  • Relevant experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
  • Good understanding of Asset Management
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Specific knowledge of engineering regulatory requirement
  • The ability to identify and actively plan improvements
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment
  • Effective communicator who facilitates bottom up and top down communication channels
  • Facilitates team development by providing structure, training, challenge, coaching and support to all team members.
  • Track record of contributing in cross functional teams to deliver business objectives.
  • Proven capability to operate at a strategic level possessing the in-depth skill to promote and manage short, medium and long term strategic objective
  • Promote cross functional alignment for the overall benefit of the enterprise
