About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for an Specification Technologist to join the Kerry team in Southall 

Key responsibilities


  • The timely completion of accurate first-time right Customer specifications and submission forms, ensuring that all of Customers’ policy and best practice requirements are met. (incl. all attachments and HARA/TSA where applicable)
  • Sense checking new / amended raw materials meet customer requirements and brand standards
  • Liaise / chase other departments for information (Raw materials / NPD / Packaging)
  • Specification proofing
  • Specification audits
  • Finished product artwork approval, ensuring all Customer and legal requirements are met.
  • Sample requests / couriers / coordinating samples


  • Generation and validation of cooking instructions, ensuring a safe re-heat for the end consumer.
  • Organoleptic assessments of finished products to support shelf-life. (incl. abuse testing)
  • Creation of Customer quality attribute sheets to agree product standards and conducting Internal and customer sign off.
  • Keeping up to date with Customer and legal requirements.
  • Other ad hoc administrative duties as required.
  • Approval of product information on Brandbank / Online Information

Qualifications and skills


  • Degree in food science or equivalent
  • Experience of completing Retailer finished product specifications using their online portals
  • Legal labelling training
  • Experience and knowledge of artwork process and approval
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food Safety is beneficial.
  • Keen eye for detail
