About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for an NPD Coordinator & Planner to join the Kerry team in Southall,


This is a Permanent Role.

Key responsibilities


Sourcing new Materials

  • Source new ingredients required for NPD customer briefs for all retailers ensuring initial product specifications, samples and prices are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Central Procurement to ensure all ingredient sourcing is in line with the Kerry/Noon Procurement Strategy, ensuring that where possible, more than 1 supplier is briefed for any new raw material requests.


Review suitability

  • Liaise with NPD and technical on suitability of the raw materials and quality assessment.
  • Liaise with Procurement to ensure suitability of the supplier.


Support Launch Preparations

  • Ensure that the accounts team receive the costings in time and any challenges is highlighted or escalated in advance.
  • Create new ingredient codes and block delisted codes.
  • Initiate ingredient change request and follow the status through the approval process in the factory.


Support Launches

  • Procurement of samples for factory trials and launches.
  • Issue activation sheets to sites for launches
  • Handover to the material planners on launch.


Manage NPD and Procurement stakeholders

  • Have open communication with the NPD team on sample deliveries to manage their expectations. Communicate any delays back immediately
  • Send updates on a weekly basis to the NPD team with project updates
  • Send weekly summaries to the Central purchasing team on the progress of projects and new ingredients used
  • Arrive prepared at the NPD and commercial meetings.


Manage Material Call off Stakeholders

  • Work in an organised manner by summarising projects using a critical path/tracker and ensure it is updated daily with prices, progress.
  • Circulate recipe sheets to the rest of the teams indicating the volumes for all new launches so that they can place orders.
  • keep the MCO team updated of any Launches and associated material requirements.
  • Advise of any delists in a timely manner.


Execute Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously improve standards and practices within the role by automating where possible and executing 8 Step Practical Problem Solving and other KPS methodologies as appropriate.

Qualifications and skills



  • Must have sound 2nd level academic qualifications (JC/GSCE or equivalent) including key subjects Mathematics and English
  • Must have 2 years’ experience in material call off activities within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills
  • Proficient Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data
  • 3rd Level Qualification in a supply chain discipline



  • Highly Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
  • Must have a robust working knowledge / experience in working with MRP based systems.
  • Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing
  • SAP experience would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of Promix MRP would be an advantage, similar scheduling tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean Methodology in this area would also be desirable considering impacts of planning methods on OEE / Operational Efficiencies
