About the role


Work Location: Singapore

Reporting to: R&D Director

As Senior Scientist - Beverages at Kerry Singapore, you will responsible for leading the development of new applications to support customers while working independently on assigned projects with minimal supervision, creating new and innovative products for beverage applications such as Tea, Coffee & Cocoa beverages, Dairy & Nutritional beverages etc.

Key responsibilities


Product Development:
•Develop products utilizing our Taste and Applied Health & Nutrition Ingredients and various technologies in application and assess its stability and suitability in meeting customer needs

Product Collection:
•Detailed understanding of the Taste collection relevant to the applications within the respective Beverage EUM
•Provides input on Taste collection needs and gaps

Cross-Function Support:
•Works with various R&D technology, to evaluate product performance into beverage application
•Links with other application groups to cross share knowledge
•Provides applications support
•Ability to work with the R&D analytical and sensory teams
•Ability to work with Operation, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain etc on product commercialisation
•Work together with a cross functional team to develop integrated beverage solutions across all category

Laboratory Maintenance:
•Follows established procedures in relation to laboratory maintenance and stock control

Sensory Evaluation:
•Manage sensory evaluation of beverage applications for internal team evaluation
•Conduct sensory evaluation for product development, product stability etc.

Documentation of results:
•Ensures all outputs are recorded according to established protocols. Documents all testing results and research notes in lab books and computer databases

Qualifications and skills


•Bachelor / Masters / in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related Applied Science with at least 5 to 8 years of Beverage R&D product development experience with a proven track record
•Specialized in beverage flavour applications with strong experience in managing both internal and external relationships – Commercial / Sales team, General Management, Customers etc.
•Must be able to formulate products with flavours
•Strong understanding of low-calorie sweeteners and dairy and nutritional beverage ingredients as well as different types of flavours and their applications, beverage emulsions, stabilities, and thermal and commercialization processes
•Strong understanding of interaction of Taste products within the food matrix and processing impact.
•Strong understanding of application and processing knowledge
•Must have in-depth understanding of beverage equipment and other industry standards for beverage products and their processes
