About the role

As an RDA Sensory Technologist, you will be integral to supporting the Sensory Team by designing, coordinating, executing, and analyzing sensory projects. Your role will involve developing questionnaires, preparing food and beverage samples, and conducting sensory screenings and training. You will ensure a well-maintained laboratory environment and manage sensory evaluations independently.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sensory Team to design, coordinate, and execute sensory projects, including questionnaire development, sample preparation, and chemical reference preparation.
  • Coordinate and conduct sensory screenings for new Kerry employees.
  • Assist in delivering sensory training sessions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and manage inventory of supplies.
  • Confidently design and implement various sensory evaluation methods.
  • Independently manage sensory screening projects, ensuring thorough and timely execution.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report on experimental data.
  • Adhere to good laboratory practices.
  • Demonstrate in-depth sensory knowledge, particularly in specific food products.

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related Applied Science.
  • A keen interest in the role of sensory science within R&D.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and good computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and sensory science.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of energy.
  • A strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
