About the role
As a Lab Technician, you will collaborate closely with Flavourists in various aspects of product development, testing, and scaling up production. Your responsibilities will include preparing samples and ensuring the laboratory is well-maintained to facilitate seamless processes across product development, testing, pilot plant operations, and scaling up efforts. This role plays a crucial part in the operational efficiency and success of our laboratory initiatives. This position is based at the RND Lab in Singapore and focuses on supporting internal operations
Key responsibilities
- Assist Flavourists in compounding flavour samples according to predefined procedures and specifications, ensuring consistency in taste and colour.
- Support Flavourists, Junior Flavourists, and Flavourist Trainees in flavour application tasks.
- Prepare and ship samples to fulfill sample requests efficiently.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of raw materials and ingredients, following established procedures for laboratory maintenance and stock control.
- Ensure the laboratory is well-maintained, including upkeep of equipment, stocking of lab supplies, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas. Maintain and calibrate test equipment to minimize measurement errors and prevent product failures.
- Record experimental results accurately and communicate findings to RD&A Scientists.
- Provide technical support and participate in other RD&A activities as needed.
Qualifications and skills
- Certificate / Diploma in a relevant science subject.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a laboratory technician or internship in a flavour house or food processing company as part of a Diploma programme. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working in a testing laboratory, food science, or flavour laboratory environment, primarily in laboratory and pilot scale settings.
- Familiarity with HACCP, manual handling, safety protocols, and chemical handling practices.
- Ability to handle non-Halal ingredients.
- Independence in handling tasks and responsibilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail in all laboratory procedures.
- Strong organizational skills to manage workflow effectively.
