About the role


The successful candidate with join our high performing team in Shillelagh, managing and supporting all aspects of the factory floor as it relates to Quality.


Reporting into the Quality Assurance Operations Lead, you will co-manage the Quality Assurance Team, comprising of 7 Production Stream Quality Leads & 1 Night Hygiene Compliance Auditor.


Key responsibilities


  • Building a strong team through training, knowledge sharing and succession planning
  • Key point of contact in the event of issue resolution and escalation
  • Manage audits - including Customer and 3rd Party as it relates to factory aspects
  • Managing the resolution and close out of issues/ incidents which have been identified as part of audit process
  • Maintain Quality Assurance through product quality - adherence to GMP through management of Production Stream Quality Leads
  • Facilitating Continuous Improvement through Practical Problem-Solving exercise and trend analysis of key metrics
  • Managing Supply Chain from Intake to Despatch
  • Managing Customers in terms of complaints - developing new Ways of Working with relevant customers
  • Technical support for site projects- building on new processes to ensure compliance with standards, customer requirements and legislation
  • Product and process monitoring, through trend analysis and subsequent action, if required
  • Cleaning and Factory Hygiene: Responsible for verifying that the factory hygiene program meets all internal and customer expectations


Qualifications and skills


  • Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject.
  • 1-2+ years relevant experience in a Quality Supervisory role which involved managing a team
  • Fluency of English language
  • Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data
  • Good understanding along with proven ability to apply and adhere to Food Safety and Quality
  • Management Systems
  • Good understanding along with proven ability to apply and adhere to the BRC Global Food Standard and specific customer standards as they apply
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
