About the role

If you are an amazing food R&D leader who wants to make great things happen at an amazing company then keep reading –

  • This is a critical role primarily focusing on developing and fostering Kerry's research, development and application work in China.
  • Motivating world class, high-performing teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with sales and marketing to identify the business opportunities in the industry
  • Developing new solutions (Kerry product offering) and new applications (new concepts) to generate new business by meeting customer’s needs
  • Understanding the industry trends and un-met customers’ needs to develop Kerry offerings proactively
  • Providing technical supports to customers to use Kerry products, including trouble shooting, on-site technical service etc.
  • Doing customers’ visits or receiving customers visits to provide technical training/discussion, concept presentation, trouble shooting etc.
  • Working with commercialization team/cross functions team to make sure new developed products scale up to full production smoothly within the deadline and upon the quality and efficiency requirement, also make sure all documentation properly filed and systems properly set-up.
  • Collaborating and leveraging with internal or external (both in China or outside of China) resource to speed up the projects and/or maximize business contributions. Especially make sure the core technology team in the region and globally
  • Managing projects portfolio to optimize the resource allocation and maximize return of projects
  • Ensuring the projects to deliver upon aligned targets (timeline and deliverables)
  • Ensuring companies polies and strategies properly followed and implemented
  • Working as a member of China RD&A management to develop and implement China RD&A strategies and polies, work together as a team to build an outstanding RD&A organization.
  • Building a consistent high performance RD&A team by coaching, motivation and timely feedback. Building a strong talent pipeline in the team.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by supervisor

Qualifications and skills

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Depth/Breadth of Fundamental Scientific & Technical knowledge (Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Process Engineering, etc.) with bachelor degree and above in Chemical Engineering, Food Science or related area
  • Strong technical skill in the assigned core technologies, with minimum 10 years’ experience with solid records
  • Sound project management skill, and project portfolio management skill
  • Communicate in English fluently, verbal and writing
  • Strong problem solving skill
  • Strong business acumen
  • Good people management skill
  • Good communication and influence skill
