About the role

 

The primary role of Process Engineer is to perform process and product development and improvement work and provide technical support to the Kerry Shah Alam plant operations. This involves all aspects of the designated plant operations areas (system custodian) and will carry substantial responsibility.  His assignments will involve a wide variety of responsibilities including quality, cost related projects, monitor plant operations, recommend, implement improvements, plant trial execution and NPI process. The main responsibilities are process and product developments/improvement, and monitoring the plant process/utilities system.
 

The Process Engineer must have good technical knowledge, able to apply Engineering technology and must keep abreast of current developments and trends in his/her area of expertise. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skill to work with multiple stakeholders, capable of monitoring information and be skilled in analysing and evaluating both process and non-process situations. 
 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Provide process and technical support to the operation promptly
  • Manage process development and improvement in productivity, rates, yield and cost.
  • Lead or/and provide technical support on engineering projects
  • Lead or/and serve as team member of the NPI project
  • Provide back-up and support for the other members of the engineering teams.
  • Network/interface with other employees of Kerry from different functions and other sites to resolve problems and apply best practices
  • Develop an understanding and applying technical skills to analyse process problems and trouble-shooting
  • In charge of special investigation of safety, environmental, quality and cost related projects
  • Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the management systems of safety, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP & GMP
     

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Minimum Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering with minimum 2nd upper class. 
  • Having related knowledge and experience in oils & fats and oleochemicals processing and plant construction project is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2 - 6 years’ experience in similar field or fresh graduate with relevant internship experience.
  • Able to express and communicate ideas effectively in both individual and group situations to different stakeholders.
  • Anticipate customer needs and give a high priority to customer satisfaction.
  • Take initiatives to contribute to product and process improvement and team growth.
  • Makes things happen. Results oriented & process focused.
  • A team player with high commitment and able to perform under pressure.
  • Should be comfortable working in a fast changing and growing global environment where accountability, quality, timeliness are key components.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications are essential with advanced skill in Excel.
