About the role

This Material Planner role is responsible for the administration of the material call-off function. This function is to ensure that the call off raw materials and packaging are executed and made available at the right time, in the right place and in the right quantity to meet our production plans and schedules.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for calling of required raw material & packaging items based on production plan whilst adhering to centrally defined inventory policy 
  • Create Plant-to-Plant Transfer Order (STO) across the Kerry business
  • Create & Assign Purchase Orders to all Suppliers 
  • Responsible for monitoring current order status and resolving issues with Suppliers in order to meet requirements
  • Identifying any missing material (shortages) and expediting the same at the least cost to ensure meeting production planning requirements, escalating where necessary.
  • Coordinate with suppliers & AP team to resolve AP dispute in timely manner
  • Attend weekly RMPM meeting, warehouse meeting to ensure smooth production planning & warehouse operation
  • Identify risks & inventory cost due to order changes & recommend solutions
  • Participate & support projects that influence and increase customer service satisfaction through effective MRP planning
  • Work closely with Suppliers, Purchasing & relevant stakeholders to determine right level of Raw Materials requirement. Drive solutions and escalate for support where necessary
  • Work with Category / Commodity in supplier management & improvement program. Participate in MOQ and lead time reduction initiatives and ensure availability of supply (AOS)
  • Drive efficiency through consolidation & optimized ordering from suppliers and delivery plan.
  • Manage slow moving & aging inventory reduction plan. Mitigate risk of excess & obsolescence 
  • Increase materials planning service level through lead time & MOQ reduction & AOS (availability of supply)
  • Identify cost & risk implications due to order changes and implement mechanism to capture and recommend solutions.
  • Provide value added ideas and processes to complete task more efficiently
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as and when required

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business / Logistics / Supply Chain or any related discipline 
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in an MNC supply/demand planning environment
  • Experience in ISO 9001 Quality System, GMP & HACCP systems, as well as Halal & Kosher application will be essential
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) user, particularly in Excel is required
  • Good knowledge in manufacturing, master production planning, distribution requirements planning, and inventory planning methodologies will be a definite advantage
  • Good command of English is required to communicate with multiple stakeholders
  • A solid communicator who can build strong relations and is not afraid to challenge decisions when see better alternatives or potential pitfalls
  • Have a strong business understanding and insight as well has an open nature with collaborative mind-set that enable her to work with people from different functions and levels.
  • A motivated and driven individual with the core competencies required to success in a demanding and challenging working environment
  • Possess strong planning and analytical skills and be able to take complex issues and break down actions for resolutions and working with tight deadlines with a hands-on approach.
  • The ability to identify and actively plan improvements. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment
