About the role

We are now recrtuirting for Senior Sales Manager within of Functional and Nutritional Plant Protein business.   The individual could be based anywhere across Europe, but ideally within Ireland, UK or Spain.

This key position has dual responsibilities in key account management and technology business development for our Functional and Nutritional Plant Protein business. The person will be responsible for handling the customer relationship for several strategic accounts in our existing Infant and Clinical Nutrition Plant Protein business while identifying and driving opportunities for growth. The Senior Sales Manager will have some additional responsibilities focused on the development of Kerry's Functional and Nutritional Protein business in Europe including the coordination of technical and commercial support for business unit leads, Taste & nutrition account managers and customers. A key element of the role will be to identify new growth opportunities for Kerry Functional and Nutritional Plant Protein business in Europe by developing a commercial and R&D project pipeline to drive growth with customers in target markets

Key responsibilities


  • Manage and drive business in key plant protein accounts.
  • Understand customer’s business, their needs and goals and identify potential new business opportunities.
  • Identify, qualify and close profitable opportunities for our Functional and Nutritional Plant Proteins business.
  • Lead all open sales opportunities and manage internal and external interactions
  • Successfully manage and deliver against sales targets with specified area of responsibility
  • Manage internal stakeholders working closely with finance, supply chain, customer care, quality, operations, R&D, marketing and regulatory to ensure customers needs are met
  • Support customer requests for technical or commercial information.
  • Measure and communicate progress against annual targets via accurate and timely reporting and forecasting. Identify gaps and follow up as needed.
  • Identify general areas for improvements to maximize customer satisfaction and efficiencies, streamline processes, increase sales, improve delivery and product availability etc.
  • Have a detailed technical understanding of Kerry Functional and Nutrition Proteins product range and applications
  • Work closely with EUM leads and account managers in Europe to develop a project pipeline to drive growth. And to support to the Taste and Nutrition team in new customers and new sales.
  • Lead the negotiation of key supply agreements and partnerships through collaboration with Kerry legal team, procurement and other business partners.
  • Work hand in hand with site management to ensure all key supplier metrics on quality and compliance, customer service, new products and product enhancements and cost management are met in delivering annual goals and objectives for customers and supply chain.

Qualifications and skills


  • University Degree in Nutrition, Food Science or similar
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers (on a strategic, relationship, negotiation and technical level).
  • 5+ years experience in Sales, Key account management and/or Business Development
  • Strong Commercial effectiveness – ability to understand customer needs, decide strategy and then negotiate large and/or complex deals including implementation of contracts
  • Ability to communicate customer and market needs to colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues to provide customer technical solutions.
  • Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Must be capable of independently implementing strategy, influencing others and customer negotiation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, second European language eg. Spanish, French preferable
