About the role

This is will be an internal facing role, supporting the RDA team in Korea, Seoul. In this role, the RDA Technologist be responsible for following prescribed procedures that involves carrying out tests to set specifications and standards. The successful candidate will be assisting our RDA scientists in sample preparations, product development, testing, pilot plant and upscaling.

Key responsibilities
  • Mainly in charge of developing lab samples, creating innovative formulas, supporting customers’ needs via benchtop test, scale-up trials and customer presentation 
  • Utilize and promote Kerry technology by providing application solution to customers 
  • Screen out flavors and functional materials, create tasting samples for evaluation
  • Lead sample cuttings with technical information on hand
  • Cross functionally work with sales, marketing, operations, and quality control teams
  • Work independently on assigned projects and ability to take ownership of own work
  • Execute prototype samples to customers in a timely manner
  • Prepare and conduct meeting updates, presentations, shelf life test and initial cost analysis
  • Run multiple projects and show technical competency in the planning and completion of assigned projects, leading to the development and implementation into production of new or revised products under supervision
  • Organize samples in the lab and maintain it clean
  • Co-work with other scientists in global R&D center when needed
  • Maintains an accurate laboratory data of all intellectual property
     
Qualifications and skills
  • BS in Science or related field, Food Science degree is preferred 
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the food industry
  • Strong technical knowledge in food chemistry, food microbiology, and product development
  • General laboratory and formulation experience are required, Beverage/snack application experience is a plus
  • Understanding of ingredient interactions/functionality 
  • Set up and operate standard lab equipment and analytical measuring tools
  • Should have basic performance skills: MS, excel, documentation, analysis 
  • Effective communication skills, reporting skills, problem solving skills
  • Team attitude, helping where needed and providing input that creates value amongst peers
  • Ability to be self-directed through time and priority management to meet the target
  • Must be very detail oriented in observation
  • Comfortably both written and verbal communication in English
