About the role

Provide support and leadership to site operations management through implementation of HSE programs, procedures, and education initiatives focused on compliance assurance, incident reduction, and risk mitigation at our Seattle Manufacturing Site.

What would you do?

  • Ensure direct reports and fellow employees, contractors and visitors are following all applicable quality and food safety procedures and policies.
  • Lead implementation and management of site ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Identify site HSE training needs, develop appropriate resources, and execute training sessions for employees and management staff as required
  • Communicate HSE incidents and corrective actions in a timely, thorough, and effective manner
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain HSE records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements. Includes, but not limited to, OSHA 300 log, incident records, safety metrics, training, inspections, permits, etc.
  • Advise project management staff on HSE requirements in the design, introduction, modify and decommissioning of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2-3 years HSE experience in a manufacturing setting, with food industry desired
  • Leader experience in a food manufacturing Plant environment strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations, and concepts
  • In depth knowledge of HSE regulations including OSHA, EPA, and local requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant consensus standards such as NFPA and ANSI, and systems such as ISO 14001
