Hiring for 12 Hour Shifts - Every Other Weekend Off!

What This Role Is:

 

The Packaging/Labeling Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation, cleaning, and light maintenance of the equipment that packages filled product for commercial distribution.  The PLE Operator is also responsible for setting up coding equipment and inspecting product to ensure adherence to specifications. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.  In the absence of the PLE Operator, another PLE Operator will serve as backup.

What You'll Do:

  • Operation of machines such as: the accumulator, cap applicator, straw applicator, mead wrapper, cardboard packer, and inkjet coder.
  • Data-entry of SKU, lot code, and expiration date information into appropriate coding and labeling equipment according to specification sheet.
  • Verify materials and codes to adhere to specifications and record necessary information on appropriate forms.
  • Have knowledge of RF scanning equipment and be able to scan all production material correctly.
  • Autonomous, general maintenance for PLE and coding equipment.
  • General support of plant production and quality assigned by plant leadership.
  • Attend all safety meetings, report any safety incidents/accidents and understand and follow all Company and Plant Safety policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in training, learning the Kerry HACCP program & Support the SQF 2000 System.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

 

  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions.
  • Ability to learn basic keyboard and data entry skills, computer literate
  • Have basic math skills.
  • Have basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and the ability to kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, and carry.
  • Ability to work in a warm and dusty environment.
  • Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus
