About the role

Under direction of the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintenance strategy for the site and the direct supervision of the maintenance function to ensure the best possible maintenance support for the entire facility.

Key responsibilities

  • The key driver in plant maintenance strategy.
  • Assist in prioritization and scheduling repairs and installations.
  • Schedule and plan the installation and completion of all new equipment and building projects in conjunction with Engineering staff.
  • Train production supervisors and production personnel in the operation of new equipment.
  • Ensure the maintenance of an up-to-date parts inventory of all critical machine parts.
  • Order parts and equipment as needed.
  • Develop and schedule the plant preventive maintenance plan.
  • Establish and maintain all labor and cost control for the department.
  • Act as the technical resource for the plant.
  • Participate on cross functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills

  • Good understanding or mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting ability
  • Experience in TPM and/or Lean initiatives
  • Experience predictive/preventive maintenance programs
  • Strong computer application skills,
  • Network and PC business application software
  • Known to be an inspiring leader cascading the vision of the organization
  • Known to be a team and people developer
  • Change management leadership
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and changing environment

Education

  • Engineering related degree, technical school degree or equivalent experience

Experience                                 

  • 5 Year of maintenance leadership experience minimum
  • Experience building and managing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • SAP experience a plus
