About the role

This position is responsible to efficiently operate the lactose rehydration system.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for efficient operation and monitoring of hydration system.
  • Responsible for efficient product addition to hydration system
  • Performs hydration system assembly, disassembly, and CIP/sanitation.
  • Responsible for packaging and palletizing the products produced on the Spray Dryer, Crystalline Dryer and KBS Anhydrous Dryer.
  • Performs scale checks, takes and submits samples to the Lab. per specified frequencies.
  • Assists Operators and other bagger personnel; preparing bags, room cleaning, dryer cleaning, bag staging and warehousing production.
  • Assist the KBS anhydrous dryer, Spray dryer and crystalline dryer during startups.  Will also assist the KBS dryer team with blade changes when needed and packaging constraints.
  • Responsible for the efficient operation and monitoring of the KBS Anhydrous dryer, Spray dryer, and Crystalline bagging system as assigned.
  • Takes appropriate action whenever the raw material or finished product does not meet Standards highlighted in Sop`s, EPL, and processing logs
  • Rotates packaging product on the KBS Anhydrous. Spray Dryer, and Crystalline dryer operations with packaging operator.  As designated by our current job rotation procedure.
  • Performs assigned data entry, record keeping and process monitoring functions according to established procedures in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for all EPL related record and data entry.
  • Initiates the cleaning of bagging rooms and related equipment per Kerry Master Sanitation Schedules, SQF, Dryer and packaging cleaning check lists, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously works to maximize On Product hours and to minimize the Off Product hours. Within a reasonable period, must develop a level of competency that supports trouble shooting equipment problems, and maximize equipment performances. During breakdowns works directly with Maintenance personnel to fix equipment in a timely manner.
  • Reports and records all deviations from specified operating parameters and “critical control points,” as established by HACCP and Kerry procedures.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with co-workers.  When necessary, communicate with plant visitors or guests in a professional, helpful, timely manner to project a positive image of Kerry  and our products.
  • Complying with all safety and work rules and regulations, and departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace.
  • Seek involvement in continuous improvement activities and processes to support organizational progress on safety, quality, customer service and cost goals.
  • Provide break relief to other employees as needed. 

Qualifications and skills

This position requires a high school diploma, or GED.
