At our Rome facility we are part of the Meat division and hundreds of different products for Kerry and our retail customers. We have an immediate opening for a 1st shift PLC Technician, with flexibility in scheduling.

What you'll do:

 

As a PLC Technician you will work with the Maintenance team to execute work orders, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, maintain and develop PLC logic unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You’ll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. What you'll need to be succesful in this role:

 

  • Industrial type work experience of at least 2+ years. Candidate can substitute successful completion of a two (2) year college curriculum in technical areas (pre-engineering) AND/OR vocational school certificates of completion training in electronics, electrical, PLC or mechanical technical areas
  • High school diploma or GED is required; associated degree in relevant field preferred
  • 3 Years Hands-on PLC Experience Preferred
  • Minimum five years’ experience with calibration and troubleshooting of industrial plant instrumentation and controls
  • Knowledge of PLC and DCS controls is a plus
  • Supervisory skills/experience a plus
  • SAP knowledge is desired
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment that includes climbing ladders and stairs, lifting 50 lbs., working at heights and in confined space
  • Ability to travel on short notice and work extended hours, typically 12 hours per day when in the field
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with safety first as a primary focus
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical, operations and maintenance lines
