What you'll do:

 

Matrix reporting to the Director of Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution North America and Operations Leader, the Warehouse Operations Manager is an enhanced role created to drive “forward looking” supply chain approach in the organization.  He or she will have the transformational leadership, passion for supply chain/logistics/warehousing, business acumen, stakeholder relationship, and relentless customer service mindset necessary to deliver a transformational change. The person will hold responsibility for delivering Safety, Quality, Service and Cost excellence for assigned warehouse/warehouses operated by third party partner (3PL).

Specific Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Strategically plan, digitalize, and improve processes and systems to manage warehousing, transportation, operations, communication and customer experience.
  • Drive partnership and establish governance, reporting, & regular cadence of communication with key stakeholders including Sales, Customer Care, Plants, Finance, ICT, Supply Planning, Transportation, Inventory teams and 3PLs to cultivate a culture of customer service excellence.
  • Manage warehouse space utilization, work schedules, cycle counts, inbound, outbound practices, resourcing and communication to drive efficient operations.
  • Implement Lean Principles at every possible opportunity.
  • Deliver KPIs related to Customer Service, 3PL performance, Transportation performance, Claims, Inventory Accuracy, Stock-at-risk and Cost targets.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety policies and procedures are in place and adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary legislative practices, procedures and industry codes. 

Project Management

  • Lead the execution of network strategy initiatives, new warehouse introduction, systems implementations and business process improvements.
  • Accountable to lead project integration ensuring all Safety, Quality, Service and Cost objectives are met.
  • Monitor progress of project milestones with all team members and provide status reports.
  • Manage project changes and ensure they are captured, documented and assessed.

What you'll need to be successful:

 

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in warehousing, logistics and supply chain with increasing levels of responsibility in a manufacturing environment appropriate to food, beverage, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals or a closely aligned sector in North America.
  • 5+ years in senior management position.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Operations/Industrial Management, Engineering or Supply Chain
  • APICS certification is a plus. 

Technical Skills:

  • Formal training in Warehousing and Logistics and Lean Principals is a requirement of this role.
  • Previous experience in a similar role and be able to showcase your successes.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Have experience with sizeable companies in SAP environment
