Where you'll work?

Our Rochester, MN location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division and specializes in fermented ingredients for products related to the bio-science industry.  Our team is proud of the work they do and have a focus on clean label or natural products ensuring freshness.

What you'll do?

  1. Monitors and tracks adherence to plan (ATP) deviations with investigations, corrective actions communicated and implemented.
  2. Assures new and existing production members are trained on the    operation of all PC’s, PLC interfaces and instrumentation following JAM's and working instructions and provides completed training documentation to Human Resources.
  3. Assures that JAM's and working instructions (process procedures) are up to date, accurate and accessible to all team members through the Qset manual.
  4. Oversees the initiation of maintenance work orders for processing equipment, instrumentation and valving to maintain in peak operating performance. Assigns production preventative maintenance work orders for timely completion.
  5. Participates in the planning team in developing the weekly production schedule for liquid and dry blended products.
  6. Oversees the facility sanitation and housekeeping program and procedures to ensure compliance with established Kerry programs and regulatory codes.
  7. Strives to reduce product contaminations and optimizes product yields through production process.
  8. Continually troubleshoots the production process and involves product and process development to optimize product yields, equipment operations and process improvements.
  9. Knows and understands the operation of all production equipment and instrumentation.  Utilizes Lotus Notes and operations software to perform functions
  10. Ensures security of employees, facilities and information systems by following and enforcing established security procedures.
  11. In conjunction with Human Resources, provides performance management for supervisors and operators which includes appraisal / performance evaluation, merit increase recommendations, coaching and counseling, conflict resolution, corrective action and training programs, hiring and termination.
  12. Attends scheduled operations meeting and daily stand-up meetings. Assures shift to shift meetings are performed on a daily basis.

What you'll need to be successful?

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or Dairy Science.
  2. 7 years experience in a dairy/food plant or related industry, with 2+ years supervisory experience.
  3. Leadership skills, Good written and verbal communication skills, supervisory skills, mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, knowledge and understanding of GMP and sanitation/hygienic practices.
