Where you'll work: 

Our Rochester, MN location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division and specializes in fermented ingredients for products related to the bio-science industry.  Our team is proud of the work they do and have a focus on clean label or natural products ensuring freshness.

What you'll do:  Sign on Bonus

Responsible for receiving and pasteurizing liquid raw materials, CIP of silos and line circuits, monitoring equipment and sanitation and housekeeping.  The work area includes the receiving area, control room, truck bay, flow plate and the silo area. 

Key responsibilities

  • Performs line circuit and tank piping connections for receiving area, including connections to flowplates, tanker trucks and silos.  
  • Operates evaporator #1 and #2 including startup, running and shutdown of equipment.  Builds solids in evaporator, monitoring and emptying.  Operates pasteurizer.   
  • Will be fully trained on the small dryer and perform duties to help dryer operator on occasion. 
  • Uses computer systems to perform job functions. Including:  Mapics, pick lists, historical charts and reports, silo control screens to change setpoints.  Utilizes Intelex, SAP and Ifix. 
  • Washes and cleans equipment per the sanitation manual.  Follows GMP program and rules. 
  • Operates forklift. 

Qualifications and skills

What you'll need to be successful and safe: 

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.  

EXPERIENCE:3-5 years direct relevant experience in Evaporation, Silo and/or Pasteurizing  

  • SKILLS Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel. 
  • Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions. 
  • The physical demands of this position include the ability to walk and stand on a regular basis.  Must climb stairs and ladders.   The ability to reach, bend/stoop, crouch, squat, push/pull and manipulate is required.  Must occasionally lift product from a variety of positions to 30 pounds.  Is infrequently required to lift up to 55 pounds.  Vision, reading and writing are required to perform this job. Talking and hearing are not essential functions of this position.
