What you'll do:

As a Fermentation Operator you will control the fermentation process and inoculate with yeast/bacteria to produce fermented intermediate good which will then be evaporated and spray dried by separate departments. In addition, this role pumps specified number of media gallons through sterilizer into fermentation tank, simultaneously, to ensure that process recipe is followed. You’ll watch over 8 fermentors at once for various processing steps; sterilize equipment in a high care fashion due to the microbial nature of fermented ingredients and taking samples. What you'll need to be successful and safe:

  • Because you’ll be working with ingredients to specific standards, you’ll have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year fermentation or related plant operator experience.
  • Brewing education, a credited brewing program, experience in a brewing environment not necessary but an advantage.
  • Ability to operate processing equipment and computerized control equipment with working knowledge of relevant procedures; relevant production experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted, pull up to 20 pounds, work at elevated heights and in confined spaces, and climb stairs frequently during each shift. Other physical requirements include bending and turning valves using tools such as wrenches, etc.
