About the role
Responsible for the day to day management of personnel and plant assets in order to manufacture product as required by customers in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee production activity to ensure timely responsiveness to both internal and external customers.
- Control department costs by monitoring overtime and use of equipment and materials.
- Review and reconcile weekly timesheets.
- Liaison with Quality Control on all quality issues to co-develop cost effective business solutions to problems emanating in process or from incorrect usage of raw material.
- Be resident department expert on safe evacuating of product from all tanks, reactors. Must be able to explain safe operation of pumps, mixers, filters, lift trucks to subordinates.
- Follow all quality assurance instructions on formulas related to proper sampling of batches.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations
- Other duties assigned by manager.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 to 8 years of experience on similar roles
- Knowledge & experience of SAP is desirable.
- Must have good leadership and interpersonal skills. Must be PC proficient
- Working Environment: Factory environment with exposure to flavor and basic product chemicals and raw materials
