About the role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Auditor to join the Kerry team in Portadown, Northern Ireland. In this role, you will provide guidance and on-going support to facilitate compliance with Quality/Regulatory policies, Food Safety Programs (HACCP) procedures and product specifications.

 

This is a full-time permanent position.

What will I be doing?

 

  • Carry out audits of the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems to verify compliance against defined standards and codes of practice.
  • Perform internal audits: in accordance with the internal audit program and work with the Quality Team, Production Stream, and other functional areas to ensure factory and systems quality audits to verify compliance against internal and external standards. Review Documentation: Verify and review documentation related to food safety, including HACCP plans, BRC and company global standards.
  • Evaluate Procedures: Observe and evaluate food handling and processing procedures to identify any non-compliance issues.
  • Identify Risks: Detect compliance issues, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to address any problems.
  • Report Findings: Collation and reporting of non-conformances to auditee / area owner audit findings and suggest improvements to enhance food safety practices.
  • Corrective Actions: Working cross functionally to ensure issues are investigated and corrective actions agreed in a timely manner.
  • Verification: Verification of non-conformances to ensure corrective actions and preventative actions are suitable and implemented.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve standards set and performance against these standards by participation in 8 Step Practical Problem Solving and other methodologies with the Production Stream.
  • Facilitate implementation of Quality Standards by ensuring the necessary support is made available to the Quality Manager and other functional areas. Provide training, support, and guidance to the Technical Department to ensure standards are fully understood thereby enabling effective implementation.

What do I need to be successful?

These include:

 

  • Education: Qualification in food science, food safety or related discipline is desirable however consideration shall be given to those candidates that can demonstrate the relevant knowledge.
  • Certification: Auditing and Inspection for Food manufacturing. Experience: Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, such as BRC and other Global Food Standards.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and observations skills. Self-discipline and a structured approach to improvements.
