Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of one (1) year of food manufacturing experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) in the English language.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills needed to maximize job efficiency.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds at least 40 feet.
  • Must be able stand for prolonged periods of times, up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with the possibility of minor dusting from the processing of food products is required.
  • Must be computer literate; be able to perform basic data entry into computer software – ERP system and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations (i.e. percentages, fractions, etc.).
  • Must be able to operate and read scales in pounds, grams and kilograms.
  • Must be able to follow good manufacturing practices, work safely and achieve results in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Must be able to withstand heights of 20 feet or more, and must have mobility in all areas of the plant including confined spaces.
  • Must be able to be punctual and meet expectations for regular attendance.
  • Must have attention to detail and be able to perform several tasks concurrently in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to frequently fill and empty 55 gallon drums, 5 and 7 gallon pails, and other containers.
  • Understand basic physical properties of raw materials and intermediates used.
  • Must be able to safely operate a forklift and be able to attend forklift training course.
  • Must be able to safely dispense and use chemicals while using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
