About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee Quality Assurance at our two Peterborough sites in Bretton and Orton.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Checking compliance production areas are in line with the Quality Management System for all process related manufacturing jobs & tasks
  • Ensure that all members of the technical team are operating in a safe way and that required risk assessments and actions required for H&S are completed
  • Coach and drive a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement through KPS tools to improve standards - ensure effective reviews are taking place between each operational department
  • Ensure customer complaints data is being entered into the relevant database to produce usable trend data for the factory teams, and that technical and Ops teams are working together to agree complaint reduction action plans.
  • Ensure HACCP in production areas is being implemented and documented.
  • Analyse & report Quality Performance Metrics and ensure information is being shared with the operational teams (through meetings and display boards)
  • Management of non-conformances to the business where non-conformance is identified.
  • Ensure standards set within the factory teams are adhered to through layered confirmation/visual assessments/GMP auditing
  • Ensure organoleptic assessments (taste panel) results are reviewed and that agreed corrective actions with Ops teams are taking place.
  • Manage and support the QAT function during the production shift so that appropriate technical cover and support is provided to the business.
  • Manage performance, training and development of QAT function and wider technical team.

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Degree educated or equivalent ideally in a food science or science based subject Quality or Food Safety desirable
  • People Leader/Team Leader/Manager with experience of leading, coaching and developing a team
  • Experience of working in a similar role within food manufacturing and to BRC standards is essential.
  • Experience with high care environments an advantage
  • SAP experience advantageous
  • Computer literate, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clear written and verbal communicator
  • Strong organisational skills with very good attention to details with ability to manage multiple tasks
