About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Accounts Assistant to join the team at our flavoured oil production facility in Padiham, Lancashire.  The main purpose of this role is to support the Plant Controller with business accounting activities. This includes raising, sending and paying invoices, reconciling company accounts and chasing late payments.
 

The successful candidate will assist with basic administration tasks and handle any accounts related queries raised by the team, customers or suppliers.  They will also be expected to help document and maintain the business’ finance procedures, updating and implementing them wherever necessary.

Key responsibilities

  • Invoice processing
  • Processing expense requests
  • Credit control
  • Cash book maintenance
  • Maintaining the company purchase and sales ledgers
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers
  • Daily stock count for manufacturing and consumables
  • Processing of accruals and prepayments
  • Compiling monthly VAT information for submission
  • Support in completing the monthly balance sheet recon
  • Basic administration including ordering of consumables and stationery
  • Updating and maintaining procedural documentation
  • Completing weekly and monthly financial excel reporting spreadsheets for submission and fill in for the logistics co-ordinator when they are on leave.

Qualifications and skills

We are looking for an individual with a positive, can-do attitude who is happy to 'roll up their sleaves and get the job done'. The ideal candidate will ideally have the following:
 

  • Previous experience as part of an accounts or credit control team.
  • Experience with SAP Business 1 / SAP Hana and Microsoft software packages (Excel, word etc.) is beneficial.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
