About the role

We are currently recruiting for packaging specialist to work within the New Product Introduction (NPI) team of our Dairy Product business.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone to grow their knowledge and experience within a fast-paced market leading FMCG business.   The successful candidate will be passionate about sustainability, packaging development, the design and artwork process and will enjoy collaborating with clients and colleagues to deliver innovative and environmentally friendly packaging solutions.

Key responsibilities


  • Collaborate with a network of internal and external stakeholders such as brand teams, procurement and external suppliers to assess feasibility and develop packaging solutions from initial concept, that meet defined consumer, shopper & customer benefits.
  • Assess Packaging Specifications (Including Pack Design) to ensure that the required functionality is specified and compatible with site processes, equipment and agreed product attributes.
  • Own critical paths for new packaging development.
  • Work with external agencies to support and deliver the creation of new packaging briefs through the creation of mock-ups.
  • Coordinate and drive the packaging sustainability strategy for business unit.
  • Lead packaging in key customer presentations illustrating a sound understanding of packaging innovation, structures and design.
  • Monitor competitor activities. Manage and present future trends in packaging to our customers as part of innovation days.

Qualifications and skills


  • Relevant qualification with a minimum of 1 years’ experience in the Food Manufacturing Industry
  • Knowledge of packaging substrates and artwork creation process
  • Project management skills
  • Able to analyse data from multiple sources
  • Customer management experience
  • Excellent communication skills combined with the confidence to lead client meetings.
  • Highly organised multi-tasker
