Maintenance Engineer

We’re now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our state of the art dairy site, based in Ossett, Yorkshire!

We’re looking for an individual that loves a challenge, loves food, and loves to get stuck into a fast paced working environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Carrying out reactive and proactive maintenance to all site plant and equipment.
  • Resolving equipment failures and carrying out planned and unplanned engineering tasks in a responsive and effective manner.
  • Adherence to Safety Health & Environmental policies and procedures and carry out all tasks in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Pro-active team working with peers, production, quality and support groups to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Repairing and maintaining equipment so as to provide best possible equipment availability for delivering production and business needs.
  • Taking personal accountability for providing a responsive and effective service.
  • Actively support engineering improvements and changes to maintain and enhance their competitive edge within the group of companies and business competitors.
  • Respond to breakdowns, systematically fault find, and identify root cause and then implement solution to prevent recurrence.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and identify continuous improvements to increase equipment efficiency.
  • Decisions on prioritisation when managing multiple requests for engineering support.
  • Actively striving to identify and implement improvements both on the production lines and within the department
  • Work with production, support groups and suppliers to implement improvement opportunities to increase equipment efficiency and safety and reduce engineering downtime.
Qualifications and skills
  • HNC in an engineering discipline - will accept lower if experience reflects
  • Relevant H&S qualifications e.g. IOSH, Confined Spaces etc
  • Experience of fault-finding diagnostics and procedure
  • FMCG experience
