About The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Poland, based at our site in Olesnica near Wroclaw. This role will work to provide assurance that Kerry is meeting its financial compliance obligations in Poland and will safeguard and protect the assets of the Group by ensuring that appropriate controls are in place. The Financial Controller will work closely with corporate functions, commercial and operations finance, GBS, our auditors, and with the European Financial Compliance team.
Key Responsibilities
General Financial Compliance
- Enforce Group policies related to financial control, tax, treasury, insurance, legal, and company secretarial matters.
- Act as a local business partner for financial controllership and compliance.
- Complete all statutory returns.
- Control and sign commercial contracts for local entities.
- Cross functional collaboration for local business initiatives.
Financial Control / Reporting
- Partner with GBS on accounting matters for Kerry Poland.
- Review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead the year-end audit process and prepare Polish statutory financial statements.
- Manage lease accounting activities and trade transfers.
- Prepare statutory forecasts and legal entity impairment models.
- Support site funding requirements and dividend repatriation.
- Review divisional recharges and royalty calculations.
- Lead external audits and tax inspections.
Company Secretarial
- Support corporate governance and legal entity compliance.
- Coordinate board meetings and maintain statutory books of record.
- Act as a legal entity director and manage changes to registered legal entities.
Tax Accounting & Reporting
- Ensure accurate tax forecasting and prepare tax computations related to local entities.
- Lead and assist with tax audits, VAT returns, and transfer pricing and any e-filings.
- Support customs and excise duty compliance.
Insurance
- Complete the annual insurance questionnaire and manage local insurance claims.
Risk & Internal Control
- Act as a Site Risk Coordinator and complete internal control self-assessments annually.
M&A
- Assist in due diligence and finance integration for M&A activities.
- Ensure proper accounting for acquisitions and disposals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- 5-6 years of experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- SAP knowledge preferable.
- Strong P&L management skills.
- Astute business and commercial acumen.
- Experience in process improvement and standardization.
- IFRS and Polish GAAP experience.
