What you'll do

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

A.        Essential Functions:

  1. Assures all new personnel in Engineering are trained in operation and safety procedures pertinent to duties to be performed.
  2. Constantly monitors and measures department initiatives to assure compliance with established procedures and protocol.
  3. Prepares 5 Year Capital PM plan and continually updates plan based on input from departmental managers.  Maintains long term site expansion plans and drawings for yearly assessments with the Business teams for new product introductions.
  4. Assures operational safety and makes recommendations for improving safety in process.  Adheres, continually, to all established safety procedures along with active participation in Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Management and SSHE Programs.
  5. Assures the grounds and facilities are maintained in peak operating condition by procuring outside services, contractor to perform necessary work activities.
  6. Assures facility security by continually assessing fire protection, alarming systems and access points to prevent damage to equipment, structure and personnel.
  7. Develops Process and Product Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and specifications for the installation of equipment to support the manufacture of new products or to improve existing products and processes.
  8. Oversees contractors in the installation of equipment to improve or modernize facilities and equipment that support new or existing product lines.

What you'll need


A.        EDUCATION:                       B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

B.        EXPERIENCE:                     5 years experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry. Minimum 2-3 years of leadership experience.

C.        SKILLS                                  Engineering aptitude with knowledge of fluid/power dynamics, thermodynamics, process automation and controls, equipment design & layout and statistical analysis programs.  Excellent interpersonal skills to include both verbal and written communications.
