About the role

Where you'll work

 

Our Norwich, NY facility is part of our AH&N business unit (Applied Health & Nutrition). Kerry’s AH&N  business consists of a unique portfolio of specialised solutions including enzymes, fermentation technology, proteins, probiotics, immune health ingredients and more. Our AH&N specialist ingredients are used in a wide range of products including foods, beverages, medicines, nutritional supplements and animal nutrition applications. Within these applications, our ingredients either deliver a functional (e.g. improving shelf life of foods or coating of important medicines) or nutritional benefit (e.g. enhancing the protein content of foods or nourishing cell lines that are used to produce medicines). AH&N ingredients are renowned for their superior functionality, quality and value, and our ingredient brand names have strong brand awareness within their respective industries. This role is ~ 7:00am-5:00 pm

 

 

 

Key responsibilities

What you'll do:

 

Do you love microbiology and want to work in applied health and nutrition manufacturing? Join our team and showcase your microbiology knowledge and assist with testing, maintaining documentation, and releasing raw material and finished products according to Good manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). You'll make quick decisions and recommended adjustments, corrective actions and disposition of goods.

 

Accuracy Counts!

You'll be performing tests, analysis, and/or verification steps to assure that raw materials, batched product, and finished product exceeds established quality standards. The Lab Technician verifies conformity through measurement and assessment. Performing analytical and microbiological testing.

 

Strong attention to detail! 

Follow  procedures, policies, and instructions, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions makes it possible to manufacture safe products for our clients. The production lines are running non-stop in order to ship products to our customers and in order to ensure quality products are being released for delivery,  being on a rotating on-call schedule will ensure we are always manufacturing the best products for our clients.

 

  • Perform sensory, physical, chemical, microbiological, and/or instrumental evaluation of raw material, in process, or finished products and release of materials following SOPs and specifications
  • Develop and maintain raw material and finished product specifications
  • Perform special testing for Logistics Department, Product Development, Purchasing or other departments
  • Perform calibrations and qualifications on and maintain laboratory equipment within the Quality Control Laboratories
  • Review Production Batch Records to insure compliance with manufacturing procedures.
  • Will be required to handle hazardous waste

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications and skills

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years’ laboratory experience with Associates Degree in Science or 1+ years’ laboratory experience with Bachelor’s Degree in Science
  • Microbiology experience in a lab environment and/or manufacturing environment
  • Showcase your math skills!
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and technology skills - Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, LIMS, SAP
