About the role

Optimize, troubleshoot and maintain existing equipment, utilities, process control systems and bacterial colony growth and health. Manage process improvement and operator training programs associated with all vinegar production processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitors and optimizes the chemical, and technical aspects of all vinegar production on site.
  • Establishes and performs training program focused on improving operator skill and knowledge base for all aspects of the vinegar fermentation process.
  • Leads and participates in process improvement projects associated with vinegar production and process efficiency.
  • Assists in SAP documentation and training as required.
  • Assists in troubleshooting the production process to eliminate production losses due to contamination, equipment malfunction and human error.
  • Participates in process and equipment risk assessments in order to optimize engineering design and safety.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in an Engineering discipline.  Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3 years experience in the food/pharmaceutical industry.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, a high level of motivation and the ability to work independently with a minimum of guidance from management.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • SAP experience will be considered as highly preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement experience will be considered as highly preferred.
