About the role

The HSE Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, coordination & monitoring of HSE Management Systems and will report directly to the HSE Manager. This role will participate in development and maintenance, statutory compliance, and industrial good practice in health and safety, including procedures, processes, and training to promote safe working practices and to protect the company’s interest. The primary goal of the HSE Specialist is to support activities to raise the safety awareness of all the organizations departments to a higher level and follows the company’s key strategies.

What would you do?

  • Ensures compliance with Company & Plant policies, health and safety standards, environmental regulations & good housekeeping practices.
  • Help enforce HSE policies to establish a culture of Health & Safety for the facility.
  • Promotes good practices related to HSE matters by coaching and training employees.
  • Supports HSE Manager with the development and execution of HSE plans in the workplace.
  • Controls the observance of HSE requirements in the plant and reports nonconformances to plant leadership team.
  • Performs HSE audits.
  • Conducts monthly safety training for all employees.
  • Assist HSE Manager with the Traction Guest system.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience on a similar role.
  • Experience in OSHA regulations (EPA – environmental regulations in NY experience preferred, ISO 14001).
  • Experience, Improving, implementing, and updating environmental programs.
  • Experience working with HSE software (Intelex and alchemy should be highly preferred).
  • Collecting, analyzing HSE data for KPI´s reporting.
  • Leading cross functional teams.
