About the role

This role will be responsible for monitoring risks, trending of leading/lagging metrics and developing reports and metrics that will be used to drive accountability and action throughout the site.  The role is based in Niagara Falls, NY with responsibility for Norwich, NY plant, requiring limited travel.  The position supervises two EHS Specialists; one based in Niagara Falls, NY and one based in Norwich, NY. This position will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing at the Niagara Site.

 

Must have experience with both leadership and significant PSM safety experience.  Chlorine is a definite plus. 

Must have PSM (process safety management) and PHA (process hazard analysis) experience

Must have in-plant Specialty chemical experience

 

The typical hiring range for this role is $86,500 to $120,000.00 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.  In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements). 

 

The Site EHS Manager is an experienced technical professional in the Health, Safety and Environment management field, with a history of success in implementing processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and report EHS records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements.  This includes Process Safety Management processes.

Includes, but not limited to, OSHA 300 log, incident records, safety metrics, training, inspections, permits, etc

  • Monitor, interpret and communicate summaries of standards and regulatory requirements to assure compliance and proactive management of risk.
  • Lead implementation and management of site ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Establish safety and health mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to track/communicate/drive progress.  
  • Analyze safety metrics and communicates results to leadership to drive action and accountability. 
  • Work with plant leaders and employees to implement effective solutions.   
  • Drive a standardized and harmonized approach across the plant to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.   
  • Present topical information/metrics on a regular basis to site leadership teams. 

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required, preferably in Safety, Industrial or Environmental Engineering.
  • Five plus years of experience managing EHS in a manufacturing facility.  In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations. OSHA and EPA are required, NYS DEC, DHS, PSM, PHA, and DHA experience preferred.  Knowledge and experience with relevant consensus standards such as NFPA and ANSI, and systems such as ISO 14001.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.  Exceptional organization skills.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Strong computer skills.
