About the role

We are hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in our Kerry Team in Newmarket, Co. Cork.

It is a full-time, permanent position, with a rotating shift pattern, Monday to Friday and every 2nd weekend

At our Kerry site in Newmarket, we are manufacturing a variety of dairy products and ingredients. Our main product is a cheddar cheese, produced with milk from local, grass-fed cows.

In this role, you will be a key part of our Wastewater Treatment Team. You will operate the machinery, collect samples and ensure your and your colleagues’ safety.

What you will be doing?

Your responsibilities as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator will include:

  • Running the wastewater treatment plant and ensuring that its operation is efficient.
  • Following processes and operating machinery.
  • Monitoring processes and completing record sheets.
  • Taking and analysing samples taken from the plant
  • General housekeeping activities such as cleaning and keeping the plant in good order.
  • Ensuring compliance of the operations with regulatory bodies.
  • Other general duties in both inside and outside environments.

 

What do you need to be successful?

 

  • Open to work in outdoor environment.
  • Good written and spoken English. Great communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use spreadsheets and other basic computer programmes is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively on your own or in a team environment.
  • Have a willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Ability to work alone at times and following formal procedures in essential.
