About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sensory Technician to join our team.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for ensuring precise and unbiased sensory evaluations as well as a keen eye for cleanliness and organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the sensory lab– kitchen inventory, ordering and receiving lab supplies, product storage.
• Housekeeping of the sensory facilities – maintaining the high standard of hygiene in the lab.
• Prepare and organize test samples, following strict protocols to avoid bias.
• Organise sensory evaluations, according to the testing schedule.
• Maintain the database of panellists
• Build tests in sensory software. 
• Support with administrative tasks, purchase orders

Qualifications and skills

• Experience working in a lab environment
• Knowledge of hygiene procedures when handling food – HACCP training would be a plus
• Practical experience in setting up sensory panel would be a plus
• Demonstrated track record of working at own initiative and as part of a team.
• Strong oral, written communication and influencing skills.
• IT literate in Microsoft packages
• Full training will be given to prepare for the demands of the role.
