About the role

Working as part of Kerry's global Applied Health & Nutrition business, this role supports the enzyme team's objectives through enzyme activity assay development/troubleshooting, conducting in-vitro studies designed to monitor/screen enzyme efficacy on natural substrates related to feed, food and beverage industrial processes.

Key responsibilities

•Supporting enzyme application development processes through analysis and interpretation
•Experimental design, contributing to the formulation of robust experiments that will confidently drive advancement of research, product development/optimisation and support of decision-making.
•Working with the Kerry Enzyme QC/QA team on assay development/methodologies.
•Technical reporting of experiments, supporting timely RD&A project delivery and technology transfers.

•Innovation: contributing to ideation towards new product developments.
•Accurately recording data in accordance to guidelines.
•Liaising with research/scientific staff within numerous internal Kerry teams.
•Writing and presenting reports, reviews and summaries.
•Further developing current analytical methods, and relevant SOP.
•Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications and skills

•Minimum MSc degree (OR BSc Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience) in Biochemistry/Enzymology/ Biotechnology/Chemistry and/or food applications
•Proven skills in enzyme activity assays and/or wet chemistry methods, including method development.
•Previous practical experience in HPLC/ion chromatographic measurement of sugars/oligosaccharides, method development and/or measurement of fat/oil extractions is desirable
•Ability to implement a range of analytical techniques and equipment to carry out research objectives pertaining to Feed, Food and Beverage EUMs.
•Competence in writing technical documents such as research reports, SOPs, etc.
•Proficiency with Excel or other data processing/visualization software.

•Experience in trouble-shooting of laboratory equipment is advantageous.
•Experience working in collaborative and multi-cultural environments in a plus.
•Experience in R&D project (or sub-part of project) management is advantageous
