About the role



The role of Savoury Flavourist, Europe & Russia will be responsible for the proactive and reactive development of Savoury flavours solutions within the European Savoury Flavourists team, contributing to the growth objective of Taste Foundation Technology. He/She will work to the assigned customer projects, delivering the results against technical, cost and deadlines expectations; he/she will develop proactively new and innovative profiles in line with collection needs and specific solutions to reinforce tonality excellence in defined strategic areas.


The savoury flavourist will report directly to the Senior Flavourist Lead being part of the European flavourists team. In alignment with Kerry Business Model, the savoury flavourist will embed savoury taste in savoury End Use Markets (EUM -business and application categories) by collaborating closely with key partners and stakeholders of the savoury EUMs in customers reactive or innovation projects, in consulting the collection work, in customers’ presentations and workshops, when required. The role will require ability to work in cross functional teams with BDM, portfolio manager, raw material Category Technologist, Sensory, Analytical, EUMs, account managers, Operation and Regulatory ensuring the positive result of each project both for internal

Reporting Structure



Reporting into the R&D senior flavourist Savoury Lead for Savoury Taste Europe & Russia, the role will also work closely with the other savoury and dairy flavourists and with the savoury colleagues of the Culinary Foundations Technologies, in addition to the BDM and Portfolio Manager Savoury, and with the Savoury EUMs. This role will be based preferably in our Global Technology & Innovation Centre in Naas, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop flavour formulations in line with internal and external customer brief requirements 
  • Customer interaction as required to drive business growth including managing customer opportunities
  • Partner with EUM's to embed savoury taste, with focus on snack, meal, prepared meal and sauce
  • Use new technologies and solutions from Global Taste Innovation funnel, valuing and adapting into formulations delivering against the regional needs and expectations 
  • Collection Developmnent in partnerhsip with Technology Business Development and Portfolio Manager 
  • Cost optimization projects to achieve PIP (Profit Improving Program) regional Taste objective in alignment with Category Technologist PIP lead 
  • Product compliance to all regulatory requirements in partnership with Regulatory 
  • Link with operations to ensure effiecient manufacturing of developed flavours 
  • Follow best practices in alignment with the Savour Senior Flavourist Lead and the rest of the team 
  • Prepare and maintain accurate recordkeeping on all assigned projects and meet project deadlines 


Qualifications & Skills



  • Bachelor or preferably Masters' Degree in Science, Chemistry or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years, preferably 10 years of experience working as a savoury flavourist with proven track record of creating savoury top note flavours, preferably process flavours and seasonings
  • Work Environment: mix of offices, laboratories and production/shop floor.
