About the role

 

We are looking to recruit a Regulatory Scientist to join our Meat and Culinary business on a 12-month fixed term contract. The main key aim of this role is to ensure all our Meat & Culinary products already on the market & NPI are compliant to the relevant Regulations. To do this you will work collaboratively with our RD&A and Commercial team to ensure all new NPIs are compliant with regulations but also customer requirements.

 

You will also have responsibility to support our customer with any product related queries, you will be looking after 1-2 key customers to provide support and engagement with any queries or key updates. We are providing tailored services to some of our key customers to help them navigate the Regulatory landscape and ensure best in class service.

 

The successful candidate will partner with our GBS fulfilment colleagues to support the embedding of the new regulatory operating model and on Customer queries. There is also ad-hoc project to ensure accuracy and integrity of our products data in our system to ensure all information provided are accurate.

 

This role is based at our Global Technology and Innovation Centre in Naas.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Participate as a proactive partner as a team member of project/development teams and provide regulatory expertise and advisement on ingredients (are they approved for use in application), on claims, and certifications throughout the development team process.
  • Provide regulatory information for new development and innovation.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and regulatory advice to internal stakeholders and Customers
  • Manage emerging issues & first escalations, be the point of contact to internal stakeholders as required.
  • RSA and GBS work closely together to provide a seamless, fast, and consistent response to request. EUM managers in RSA and GBS have regular meetings for customer needs
  • GBS is incorporated into appropriate regional all-staff meetings to stay informed of RSA and updates to business will be provided as needed through interactions outlined in deliverables
  • Be the in region support for your colleagues in GBS ensuring that the GBS team are invited to relevant meetings and are kept informed of relevant in region updates that may have an impact on their role
  • Training and onboarding partner of Regulatory colleagues & other functions as required

.

  • Reviews the commercialization process, for all relevant labelling and NFP formatting compliance. Performs same comprehensive review and approvals required for formula changes through Kerry Tracks.
  • Working closely with the senior R&SA scientist to ensure they are up to date with the latest development of relevant industry regulations and regulatory trends across the region and share with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the participation in trade association where applicable, to proactively engage on policy discussions, understand new regulation to enable the business to have a competitive advantage in the marketplace
  • Proactively business partnering with EUM on specific customer opportunities, strategic customer engagements including customer presentations
  • Prepares external certification requests as outlined at project brief and leads the cross-functional substantiation and documentation of all claims in accordance with current country regulations.
  • Completion of key strategic customer documentation that are retained under Regional remit, according to EUM strategic plans

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Able to work accurately and quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Accurate and organized with good communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Project Management skills
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills
  • Full understanding of relevant regulations globally - with a particular focus on EU, Middle East, Africa and Russia
  • Understanding Food Industry structure and regulatory implications (e.g. retailer requirements, RSPO, Halal and Kosher)
  • Ability to manage, develop and improve the regulatory processes, ensuring efficient, accurate and timely delivery of technical documentation to customers.
  • Capability to train and support junior members of the department/ RDA function as appropriate
  • Ability to identify opportunities for the regulatory function to enable business growth
