About the role

We are recruiting an experienced and passionate Senior Application professional to support and drive business growth working within our Nutritional & Functional Applications Team.

 

The area of interest is around sweet food application, focusing on key areas such as Confectionary, Bars etc.

 

Based at our Global Technology and Innovation Centre in Naas, County Kildare, Ireland, the successful applicant will be part of our Pan-European team responsible for the design of exciting concepts to delight our customers using our Taste, Pro-Active Health & Applied Health Technologies.

 

The role involves some travel to represent Kerry technically when required at our key customer accounts, working to establish mutually successful partnerships.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and construct strong relationships with key customers by developing a wide understanding of each customer, their marketplace and dynamics involved. Providing them with technical knowledge, experience and support when required.
  • Build strong relationships with all internal contacts ensuring smooth project management is always maintained.
  • Manage the technical development activities related to key allocated projects, ensuring that all products developed are appropriate to the specific application and comply with necessary regulations, cost, and compositional requirements.
  • Manage all projects to assist in achieving the business goals and targets of each account working closely with the key account manager, marketing, and regulatory teams to execute on business-critical projects.
  • Through Application Innovation, lead projects which will support and fill key market gaps delivering innovation to our customers. Actively engage in the development of these pro-active presentations managing each stage gate efficiently and taking accountability. Engaging the key stakeholders at each stage to ensure alignment and engagement and gathering required data from key team members (marketing, strategy, regional teams etc). Engage with the wider team and execute effective roll out plans for these concepts once at launch stage gate to relevant key customers.
  • Support and drive validation projects implementing shelf-life studies where required and taking responsibility for timelines and execution.
  • Assemble, gather, and disseminate data from various sources both internal and external and formulate into reports and analytics which will enable decision making.
  • Add value by proactively identifying potential opportunities or issues and assist in the implementation of both process and performance improvement.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with the wider team to upskill team members and support technical knowledge development within the team.

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree or similar in food science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Experience working in a relevant sweet application role.
  • Fluency in a Language other than English would be an advantage.
  • Able to work accurately and quickly in a fast-moving environment.
  • Able to work on your own initiative and pay attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
